Martin Murray: 'Facing Gennady Golovkin isn't mission impossible'

British middleweight Martin Murray insists that facing unbeaten Gennady Golovkin in Monte Carlo on February 21 isn't "mission impossible".

British middleweight Martin Murray believes that it is important to take a positive mindset into his world title encounter with Gennady Golovkin.

Golovkin, who is widely regarded as the pound-for-pound biggest puncher in boxing, puts his WBA super title on the line against Murray on February 21, but despite being the underdog, the challenger is confident of causing what would be considered a huge upset in Monte Carlo.

The 32-year-old is quoted by The Express as saying: "The mind is very important. A lot of his opponents have been half-beaten before they went in the ring. But I don't want to hear anything negative, only positive words.

"It's a tough fight and there's a lot of things working against me, but I really think that I can beat him. I'm working on nullifying his main weapon, his power. As far as I'm concerned, it's not mission impossible."

Murray's only defeat in a 31-fight professional career came on points against Sergio Martinez in Argentina last year.
