Vitali Klitschko has reiterated his desire to fight David Haye, despite the WBC ruling that they will not sanction a bout between the pair.
Jose Sulaiman, president of the WBC, has said that his organisation does not rank Haye within the top 15 heavyweight boxers in the world.
As a result, he said that the no consent will be given to a fight for their title.
However, Klitschko announced that he would agree to a fight as soon as Haye lowers his financial demands.
The Ukrainian believes that, as Haye is no longer a world champion, he has no leverage with which to bargain.
"It would be a really interesting fight," said the 40-year-old. "But Haye has to tame his appetite, because the conditions dictated by him are not acceptable given the fact he is no longer a world champion.
"All the time I have to repeat this to him. If we can reach an agreement and sign a contract, we shall immediately arrange a press conference."
Klitschko, who plans to enter into politics after his boxing career, defeated Dereck Chisora in his last contest in February.
