Wladimir Klitschko brands the potential fight between David Haye and Dereck Chisora "disgraceful for the sport of boxing".

Wladimir Klitschko has labelled the potential fight between David Haye and Dereck Chisora "disgraceful for the sport of boxing".

The British Boxing Board of Control has refused to sanction a fight between the pair after the duo's infamous brawl at a press conference following Chisora's defeat to Vitali Klitschko in Munich in February.

The two Brits will now clash at Upton Park on July 14 after obtaining a licence to compete under the order of the Luxembourg Boxing Federation. Klitschko is appalled with the decision to allow the fight to go ahead.

"What kind of message are we sending to young people with this fight? It's something that is not right," Klitschko told talkSPORT.

"I can compare it to soccer. What kind of game is it going to be if fans misbehave themselves and players as well, how is it going to end up? Certain games have been cancelled because of misbehaviour of the fans and the players and that is something that is going on in boxing.

"It is something that is actually disgraceful for the sport of boxing. The champions of boxing have been trying to make it as glamourise as possible and unfortunately now it is going in the opposite direction, which makes me feel unhappy."

Chisora's last fight saw him beaten by Vitali Klitschko, while David Haye retired following his loss to brother Wladimir.
