Ricky Hatton calls a press conference to announce his return to boxing after three years out of the ring and he will fight at the Manchester Arena on November 24.

Ricky Hatton has confirmed his return to boxing in a press conference today following three years out of the ring.

The 33-year-old, who described his return to the profession as "more than a comeback", has announced that he will fight at the Manchester Arena on November 24.

"It's great to be back," said Hatton. "It's more than a comeback, it's worth more than any money. I want British boxing to be proud of me again. The only way to convince everyone I'm back is by flattening someone on November 24.

"People say to me, 'What are you doing it for? You have been beat by two of the best pound for pound fighters of your generation, don't risk your legacy'. But I think if you don't understand why I want to make a comeback, you have to sit down and have a word with yourself."

Hatton first retired from the game after getting defeated by Manny Pacquiao in 2009.
