George Groves explains split with Adam Booth

British super-middleweight George Groves reveals that former trainer Adam Booth notified him by text that he wished to end their long-standing partnership.

British super-middleweight George Groves has revealed that it was trainer Adam Booth who brought an end to their partnership last month.

Groves, who is currently preparing to face Carl Froch for his two world titles on November 23, has now joined forces with Paddy Fitzpatrick, and he has insisted that he hasn't been affected by the split with Booth.

The 25-year-old told Sky Sports News: "Adam informed me over a text that our working relationship was terminated, which obviously I had to accept.

"I then approached Paddy and told him about the fight that I have got coming up. I asked him if he thinks I can win, and he said "I certainly do". We've been working together ever since.

"The split was something that I was half-expecting at some point, because things like this have happened in the past. It couldn't be patched up this time, so you move on."

Groves is currently unbeaten in 19 professional bouts.
