Carl Froch believes that Andrew Flintoff could win a regional or British title if he sticks with boxing.

Carl Froch has said that Andrew Flintoff put on a good display in his first professional fight.

The former England cricketer was awarded a points victory over Richard Dawson, despite being knocked down in the second of four two-minute rounds.

The IBF super-middleweight champion told Sky Sports News: "Flintoff did himself proud, he got in there had a go, he threw a lot of punches and didn't shy away and go into his shell, if anything he was too eager.

"If he can continue good luck to him, I don't see why not, I think he's a year younger than me so let him crack on!

"If he wanted an area title or British title then he'd be a few years away from that but it's not an unrealistic goal."

The 34-year-old Lancastrian described beating the American fighter as his "best personal achievement".
