Chris Eubank Jr: 'Gennady Golovkin is not unbeatable'

British middleweight champion Chris Eubank Jr says that potential opponent and current world champion Gennady Golovkin is not unbeatable.

Chris Eubank Jr has claimed that a London showdown with Gennady Golovkin would represent one of the biggest fights in British boxing history.

The Brighton middleweight faces Tom Doran at the O2 Arena on Saturday night but he already has eyes on a clash with a fighter considered to be the best in the world.

Matchroom Sport promoter Eddie Hearn has suggested that a deal is likely to be signed next week - providing that Eubank beats Doran - and the British champion has said that he backs himself to overcome the big-punching Kazakh.

The 26-year-old told Sky Sports News: "I definitely think it would be one of the biggest fights in British boxing history. This is two huge names and people know we are real fighters, fighters' fighters who go in there and put everything on the line.

"I want to challenge him because he's the No.1 in the middleweight division and is seen as one of the pound-for-pound best in the world. Any fighter worth his salt wants to be the best and to be the best you have to fight the best.

"I told him I was ready for him and there's been no response yet but all I can do is wait to see if he's ready to step up and fight someone who isn't scared of him. No man is unbeatable. People think he's some invincible monster who knocks everybody out but I know my chin and I know the kind of shots I can take."

Eubank has won 22 of his 23 fights in the professional ranks.
