Oscar De La Hoya critical of Floyd Mayweather Jr tactics against Manny Pacquiao

Oscar De La Hoya criticises Floyd Mayweather Jr's approach during his unanimous points victory over Manny Pacquiao.

Oscar De La Hoya has criticised Floyd Mayweather Jr for the approach that he used during his unanimous points victory over Manny Pacquiao.

Mayweather eased past the Filipino at a sold-out MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Saturday evening to stretch his unbeaten professional record to 48-0, but De La Hoya was disappointed with tactics adopted by the five-weight world champion.

BBC Sport quotes the Golden Boy CEO as saying: "Call me old-school but I like the fans getting their money's worth by watching an action-packed fight.

"I'm just not into the boxing, running style. I like jumping out of my seat because a fight was existing."

However, the American's father, Floyd Mayweather Sr has dismissed criticism of his son's strategy against the Filipino.
