Dereck Chisora will receive a hearing from the WBC 'as soon as possible' according to the Boxing Council's president.

Dereck Chisora has been told that he will be given a hearing by the World Boxing Council as soon as possible following his indefinite ban.

The London fighter received the ban on Tuesday following a number of disciplinary problems surrounding his bout with Vitali Klitschko in Munich.

Despite revealing that they would like Chisora to take anger management classes, WBC president Jose Sulaiman has admitted that Chisora will have a chance to defend himself at a hearing.

Sulaiman told Sky Sports News: "We're going to have a hearing. The attorney representing the WBC is Steven Beverley. He will be in charge of the hearing.

"It will take place as soon as possible. We're asking our representative to go ahead and do the hearing immediately.

"He is a human being so we're not going to put him in the trash. He made a mistake. He must pay for the mistake but also we have to give him another opportunity."

Promoter Frank Warren has voiced his anger at the WBC's decision to ban Chisora.
