Dereck Chisora, Kubrat Pulev to clash for European heavyweight title

British heavyweight Dereck Chisora will face Kubrat Pulev for the European title after failing to agree terms with Anthony Joshua.

The EBU has announced that Dereck Chisora and Kubrat Pulev will meet for the vacant European heavyweight title.

After Erkan Teper was stripped of the belt after failing a drugs test, it was expected that Chisora would meet Anthony Joshua in London on April 9, but with no agreement being reached, Chisora will now meet former world title challenger Pulev.

A date and venue are yet to be announced but Chisora has expressed an interest in travelling to Bulgaria to fight Pulev in front of his home supporters.

Chisora has won 25 of his 30 bouts as a professional, while Pulev's only defeat in 23 outings came at the hands of Wladimir Klitschko in November 2014.
