Tony Bellew has said that he can't wait to face Edison Miranda in a fight he thinks will confirm his world-class status.
Bellew will face Miranda at Alexandra Palace on September 9 for the WBC International light heavyweight title, it was announced today.
The Liverpool fighter believes that he will prove he has what it takes to perform at the highest level by defeating the Colombian puncher.
"He's a world-class name and the sort of guy I've been looking to fight for some time now," said Bellew.
"When you look at the guys he's fought and the titles he's boxed for you know you are sharing the ring with someone who is at the top level, it should be a great fight as he can punch and he comes to fight."
Bellew joins former European middleweight champion Darren Barker on Matchroom's 'London Calling' show as the English pair look to move up the rankings.
