Team England's Pat McCormack has vowed to learn from his defeat to Welshman Joe Cordina in his opening bout of the Commonwealth Games.
The lightweight had been expected to challenge for a medal this summer but lost out to Cordina, who is now among the favourites to make the podium.
"I didn't feel that good. I thought I might have had it, but it wasn't to be," he told reporters.
When asked if the occasion overwhelmed the teenager, he added: "No not at all. I had to keep my weight down a bit but I am not blaming anything. I will definitely learn from it."
Next up for Team England is Sam Maxwell, who fights Ikani Falekaono later this afternoon.
