Team England's Natasha Jonas has paid tribute to Shelley Watts as she crashed out of the Commonwealth Games at the hands of the Australian.
Jonas lost her round-of-16 fight to Watts on a split decision in the women's lightweight 60kg in Glasgow, and despite her defeat the 30-year-old has admitted that she was proud of her effort.
She told BBC Sport: "Obviously it was a close bout. I thought had the last two rounds but that's just boxing. She's a brilliant fighter and I knew she was going to come and bring it.
"The reception we've that has been phenomenal - it's a great advert for women's boxing. We had to build on the success of the London Olympics and I think we did that."
Watts will face Isabelle Ratna of Mauritius in the quarter-finals of the competition.
