LeBron James: Kevin Durant has been "most consistent" player

Miami Heat forward LeBron James believes that Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant has been the "most consistent" player in the MVP race.

LeBron James has said that Kevin Durant has been the "most consistent" player in the race to be named the NBA's most valuable player this season.

The Oklahoma City Thunder is the league's leading points scorer, and recently broke Michael Jordan's record for the longest run of games scoring 25 points or more.

The Miami Heat forward, who has won the award in four of the last five seasons, told reporters: "I would say he's the most consistent basketball player as far as the MVP this year, man. He's put up some great numbers.

"I think KD has had one heck of a season. And, you know, if he's rewarded with the MVP, it would be great. It would be awesome for him, for his family. He's played MVP-type basketball.

"I don't really get caught up into what people say. At the end of the day, they have their own votes and they go from there."

Durant has averaged 32 points per game this season, scoring over 40 in 12 games.
