Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant says global pre-season trips are 'tough'

Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant says that travelling around the world just weeks before the new season is "tough".

NBA superstar Kevin Durant has said that travelling around the world to promote the game of basketball ahead of the 2013-14 season is "tough".

The 25-year-old forward and his Oklahoma City Thunder teammates face the Philadelphia 76ers in a pre-season match in Manchester tonight, just over three weeks ahead of the new campaign.

When asked how much of a pain flying away from America was, Durant told BBC Sport: "Honest answer, it's tough. You know, a 13-and-a-half hour flight. Body schedule's messed up but everybody here will do anything for the game of basketball.

"We are excited to be travelling to different countries and playing this game that we love. A lot of guys didn't think that we would be travelling around for the game of basketball. It's worth it."

Durant and OKC, who were defeated by LeBron James's Miami Heat in the 2012 NBA Finals, begin their quest for a first title at the Utah Jazz on Thursday, October 31.
