Report: Joel Embiid out for up to six months

NBA Draft prospect Joel Embiid will reportedly miss up to six months while recovering from surgery in which two screws were inserted into his foot.

Joel Embiid will reportedly need up to six months to recover from surgery to his fractured foot.

The NBA Draft prospect had two screws inserted into his foot during an operation yesterday morning, preventing him from attending next week's Draft.

According to Yahoo!, the procedure will prevent the seven-foot center from playing for four to six months, potentially ruling him out of the start of the 2014-15 regular season.

Embiid had been linked to the Cleveland Cavaliers, who have the first pick, but is expected to drop down the order as a result of the surgery.
