Sports Mole rounds up all the action from Wednesday's games in the NBA.

LeBron James put in a big performance to give the Cleveland Cavaliers a comfortable win over the Washington Wizards in the NBA.

The four-time MVP added 29 points as the home side opened up a big lead by the end of the first quarter, before Kevin Love made a string of shots late on to end any hopes of a Washington comeback.

The San Antonio Spurs needed a strong second-half performance to win their fifth game in a row, downing the Indiana Pacers.

The NBA champions were without coach Gregg Popovich, who is resting after undergoing a medical procedure, but Manu Ginobili ensured that the Spurs won in his absence, adding 21 of his 28 points in the second half.

The Golden State Warriors extended their winning run to seven games as Stephen Curry led the scoring against the Orlando Magic.

Curry scored 28 points, including six three-pointers to help the visitors to a 27-point lead early in the second half, while seven Warriors players reached double figures.

The Portland Trail Blazers made it nine wins in a row with a dominant second half against the Charlotte Hornets.

Al Jefferson helped the home side open up a lead before the break, but Damian Lillard brought Portland back into the game with a third-quarter surge.

The Dallas Mavericks needed overtime to clinch a win over the New York Knicks, who have won just once away from home so far this season.

Both sides had chances to pull away in regulation, but the scores finished level before Dirk Nowitzki led a 9-0 run for the Mavericks and Tyson Chandler dunked a shot against his former team, sealing the win for Dallas.

The Los Angeles Clippers needed a strong finish to secure a narrow win over the Detroit Pistons, leaving their opponents without a win in six games.

Having trailed at the break, Chris Paul added a string of shots for the Clippers in the third, before Jamal Crawford and Blake Griffin hit their stride late on, outscoring Detroit 32-25 in the fourth.

The Philadelphia 76ers slipped to their 15th defeat of the season, as the Brooklyn Nets made a strong start at the Wells Fargo Center.

The visitors were 13 points ahead by the end of the first quarter, while Alan Anderson scored 10 of his 12 points late on to make sure the Sixers did not fight back for their first win of the campaign.

The Toronto Raptors continue to set the pace in the Eastern Conference as they beat the Atlanta Hawks, leaving the Canadian franchise on a six-game winning streak.

DeMar DeRozan hit his stride early on, helping the visitors to a 10-point lead by the end of the first quarter, finishing the game with 27 points.

The Oklahoma City Thunder ended their six-game losing run with a comfortable win over the Utah Jazz.

Reggie Jackson, Jeremy Lamb and Serge Ibaka all scored over 20 to make sure that the Thunder avoided another narrow defeat, leaving them 4-12 so far this season.

The Houston Rockets finished their game strongly to clinch a win over the Sacramento Kings, moving them to a 12-3 record.

James Harden and Isiaih Canaan combined for 50 points to ensure that the Rockets held on for their third win in a row.

The Memphis Grizzlies continued their strong recent form to clinch a win over the Los Angeles Lakers, leaving them at the top of the Western Conference.

The home side were ahead at half time, but Marc Gasol led the Grizzlies to an advantage after the break as Memphis outscored the Lakers 34-23 in the third quarter to set up the victory.

The Milwaukee Bucks pulled away in the fourth quarter to wrap up a win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

There was little between the two sides in the first three quarters, with Milwaukee edging to a two-point lead heading into the final 12 minutes, but Brandon Knight added a late rush of points for the visitors to secure the victory.

The Phoenix Suns eased to an 18-point victory over the Denver Nuggets, ending their opponents' five-game unbeaten run.
