Report: Former Microsoft CEO to buy Los Angeles Clippers

Former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer reportedly holds talks with Shelly Sterling over a possible deal to buy the Los Angeles Clippers.

Former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has reportedly begun talks over a possible deal to buy the Los Angeles Clippers.

The future of the franchise remains uncertain following the sanctions imposed on former owner Donald Sterling after he was recorded making racist comments.

It was reported on the weekend that Sterling's wife, Shelly, was hoping to negotiate the sale on her terms rather than see the team sold by the NBA.

According to TMZ, she met with Ballmer on Sunday regarding a possible deal, but no official announcement has been made from either party.

Ballmer failed in an attempt to buy the Seattle SuperSonics in 2008, shortly before they became the Oklahoma City Thunder.
