Jamal Crawford wins Sixth Man of the Year award

Los Angeles Clippers guard Jamal Crawford wins the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year award for the second time in his career.

The NBA has announced that Jamal Crawford has won the Sixth Man of the Year award for the second time in his career.

The prize is handed out annually to the player that has the greatest impact off the bench during the regular season.

The Los Angeles Clippers guard told ESPN: "Understanding that just because you come off the bench, doesn't mean you don't have an important role on the team.

"The bottom line is, everyone wants to win, and you really truly believe that, if you're the sixth man or the seventh man or the eighth man or whatever, you have to buy into that.

"Honestly, Doc Rivers has changed the way I view basketball. I was known more of a scorer. If somebody would score on me and I'd be like, 'I'll get it back. I can outscore them, I know I can.' But him and his staff made me so much more of a well-rounded player and they made me appreciate the little things."

Crawford was previously given the honour during his time with the Atlanta Hawks in the 2009-10 season.
