Steve Ballmer: 'Los Angeles Clippers are going to be bold'

Steve Ballmer says that he will be taking bold moves forward with the Los Angeles Clippers in his first public speech as the new owner of the NBA franchise.

Los Angeles Clippers owner Steve Ballmer has told fans that he couldn't be more honoured to be a part of the franchise, which he will take forward with a progressive footprint.

The former Microsoft chief executive made his first official bow to fans on Monday and promised that he would be looking to take the team forward with a bold strategy.

"I couldn't be more honoured or excited or fired up to be here," Ballmer told the 3,000 fans who had gathered for his speech at the Staples Center.

"We're looking forward, everything's about looking forward.

"I think if you're not being bold you're being timid. And the LA Clippers are going to be bold."

The new NBA season is due to get underway on October 28.
