Luol Deng "surprised" by trade

Former Chicago Bulls small forward Luol Deng admits that he was surprised to be traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Luol Deng has admitted that he was "surprised" at being traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers earlier this week.

The team gave up center Andrew Bynum and three future Draft picks to acquire the two-time All-Star from the Chicago Bulls.

The 28-year-old, who represented Team GB at the 2012 Olympics, told reporters: "I've been very lucky. Not a lot of guys can say they've been with one organisation for too long. I was definitely surprised.

"You hear stuff, you hear rumours, but some of it's true and some of it's not. When it happened, I couldn't believe it. It took a while to hit me. But it's not like I'm stopping from playing basketball. I've been traded from one great organisation to another one."

Deng could make his debut for the team when they face the Utah Jazz tomorrow.
