Cleveland Cavaliers hire former Milwaukee Bucks coach Larry Drew as an assistant

Former Milwaukee Bucks head coach Larry Drew joins the Cleveland Cavaliers as an assistant on David Blatt's staff.

Cleveland Cavaliers head coach David Blatt has added former Milwaukee Bucks coach Larry Drew to his staff.

The 56-year-old will become an assistant at Cleveland working alongside coaches Jim Boylan, Bret Brielmaier, James Posey and Tyronn Lue.

Drew is considered to have been dealt a rough hand at the Bucks, where he spent only one season before being fired to allow Jason Kidd to come into the fray.

The new NBA season is due to start on October 28, with the San Antonio Spurs taking on the Dallas Mavericks.
