Derrick Rose excited to make Chicago Bulls return

Derrick Rose insists that he is ready to return for the Chicago Bulls ahead of the new season.

Derrick Rose has admitted that he is struggling to contain his excitement ahead of his return from injury.

The 24-year-old has been absent since injuring his knee in the 2012 playoffs, but he insists that he is ready to contribute at the start of the season for the Chicago Bulls.

"I'm feeling good," Rose told reporters. "Right now my legs are good. I'm just trying to stay positive and just keep my emotions from exploding knowing that the season is right around the corner."

Despite missing the whole of last season, Rose does not think that it will be difficult to get used to playing with his teammates again.

"I'm just trying to fit in with them, do my job, where my job is to come in and run the game and get them open shots and play aggressive," he said.

"So I think if the guys on the team know that and me knowing that, too, I think it's going to be a smooth year and a smooth process."

Rose won the NBA MVP award in 2011.
