Derrick Rose "fine" with Team USA bench role

Team USA point guard Derrick Rose accepts his role of coming off the bench as he struggles to make a significant impact at the FIBA World Cup.

Team USA and Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose has insisted that he is "fine" with coming off the bench as Kyrie Irving continues to start at the FIBA World Cup.

Through training camp, the 25-year-old had been expected to be the team's starting point guard, but as he struggles for form he has been dropped to the bench instead.

"My role is coming off the bench right now. I'm fine with it. I know no second unit can win when I'm on the court or stick me when I'm on the court," Rose said, ESPN reports.

Rose has played in just 10 games over the past two NBA seasons but he has shown no sign of setbacks this summer after two serious knee injuries.
