Chicago Bulls' Taj Gibson playing through hand injury

Chicago Bulls forward Taj Gibson reveals that he has been playing through a torn ligament in his left hand since January.

Chicago Bulls forward Taj Gibson has revealed that he has been playing through a serious hand injury for the past month of the season.

The 29-year-old has been playing with a torn ligament in his left hand, which the forward believes he sustained during his side's win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

However, Gibson has still managed to produce a solid level of production for the Bulls, including a 12-point display against the Phoenix Suns.

"I was playing with a stage two ligament tear in my hand," Gibson told ESPN. "It was so frustrating, but I just go out there and try to do what I can.

"[Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau] told me, 'don't try to tell about any injuries. Just go out there, just try to give your team whatever you can.' And that's been my slogan: Just try to do what I can."

Gibson is averaging 10.5 points per game for the Bulls this season.
