The Miami Heat have won the first game of their playoff against the Brooklyn Nets, easing to a 107-86 win in their Eastern Conference semi-final.

The teams were close in the first half, with the two-time defending champions leading by just three points at half time, but they took control after the break.

LeBron James and Ray Allen combined for 31 throughout the game as the home side outscored the Nets 33-23 in the third quarter.

Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade kept the shots coming as the Heat continued to pull away in the fourth in their first game in eight days.

The two sides meet again tomorrow evening.
