The Indiana Pacers survived a late fightback from the Golden State Warriors to claim their fifth win in a row on Monday night.

Golden State reduced a deficit of 20 to just two points, but the Pacers managed to hold on in the closing stages for a 102-94 success.

The Brooklyn Nets thrashed rivals the New York Knicks 103-80 at Madison Square Garden to earn a seventh victory of 2014.

Joe Johnson scored 25 points for the Nets as the dominant visitors condemned the Knicks to their fourth straight loss.

Defending champions the Miami Heat lost 121-114 to the Atlanta Hawks, who stretch their record to 21-19 this campaign.

LeBron James scored 30 points in a losing cause as Paul Millsap led the way for the Hawks with 26 points of his own.

The Dallas Mavericks edged to a 102-97 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers, who trailed by 24 at one stage inside the Quicken Loans Arena.

Monta Ellis scored 22 points as the Mavericks held off a late charge led by Kyrie Irving and Luol Deng.

DeAndre Jordan recorded 16 points and 21 rebounds to inspire the Los Angeles Clippers to a 112-103 triumph over the Detroit Pistons.

Blake Griffin and Jamal Crawford combined for 31 points as the Clippers earned their sixth win in eight games since Chris Paul injured his shoulder.

The Charlotte Bobcats came close to surrendering a 30-point lead before securing a 100-95 success over the Toronto Raptors.

Al Jefferson posted 22 points and 19 rebounds as the Bobcats were made to wait until Ramon Sessions scored two late free throws for the victory to be safe.
