Married couple Chris and Gabby Adcock and their England teammates Chris Langridge and Heather Olver comfortably advance to the last 16 of the mixed doubles in Glasgow.

England couple Chris Adcock and Gabby Adcock and their teammates made comfortable progress in the Commonwealth Games mixed doubles this afternoon.

The husband and wife pairing are among the favourites for gold in Glasgow and they began their competition with a routine 21-12 21-13 victory over Northern Ireland's Tony Murphy and Alannah Stephenson.

Their colleagues Chris Langridge and Heather Olver were even more convincing winners, having taken little time to dispatch of Kenya's Patrick Mbogo and Mercy Joseph by a 21-7 21-4 scoreline.

Chris and Gabby Adcock, who married last year, and Langridge and Olver will continue their quest for a medal in the last 16 on Thursday, with the final scheduled for the last day of the Games on Sunday.
