Denmark on course for quadruple badminton gold at European Games

Denmark will contest four of the five badminton gold-medal finals following a string of highly-successful performances in Saturday morning's semi-finals.

Denmark remain on track to claim a near clean sweep of badminton gold at the European Games following an impressive showing at the semi-final stage.

Of the five events taking place in the sport, only the women's doubles will be without a Danish representative as Lena Grebak and Maria Helsbol slipped up in their last-four tie against Russian Federation.

Elsewhere, Lina Kjaersfeldt will face Belgium's Lianne Tan in the women's singles finals, while mixed doubles pair Niclas Nohr and Sara Thygesen will contest the final after overcoming top seeds Ireland.

Emil Holst has also made it all the way in the men's singles where he will battle Spain's Pablo Abian, and second-ranked Mathias Boe will partner Carsten Mogensen in the men's doubles later this afternoon.

Denmark have six medals to their name so far at the inaugural Games in Baku.
