British athlete Jessica Ennis looks to miss out on heptathlon victory after just reaching 39.95 metres in the Javelin event on Tuesday.
The 25-year-old took the lead overnight after coming second in the 100m hurdles and reaching her personal best.
Despite the defending champion’s positive start, Ennis will need to overcome Russia’s Tatyana Chernova, who sits 133 points ahead, to clinch gold.
There are three events remaining in the heptathlon.
