Justin Gatlin has said that he does not care if people have a negative opinion of him as he prepares for his World Championships races against Usain Bolt.
Gatlin has served two suspensions for using banned substances while racing.
"I really don't care what they think, I am just a runner like he is a runner," Gatlin told reporters. "We are just runners, there is no good runner or bad runner.
"No-one is trying to take over the world. No-one is trying to blow up the world. Just remember I am more than four years. I am more than two bans.
"There are not going to be medals passed out to everybody in the world. It is going to be passed out to one person, the champion."
Gatlin and Bolt will face each other in the 100m and 200m in Beijing, the two distances in which Gatlin has set 2015 fastest times.
