Neil Black: 'Mo Farah is more confident than ever'

Mo Farah's confidence could not be higher as he bids for two gold medals at the World Championships, according to British Athletics performance director Neil Black.

Neil Black, the performance director of British Athletics, has claimed that Mo Farah could not be more confident as he prepares to start his bid for two gold medals at the World Championships.

Farah will look to defend his 10,000m title in Beijing on Saturday, before taking part in the 5,000m heats on Wednesday as he tries to repeat the success he enjoyed in Moscow two years ago.

Despite the accusations of doping violations directed at his coach, Alberto Salazar, in recent months stealing the focus from the 32-year-old's preparations, Black believes that the double Olympic champion will be the man to beat.

"He's in really good shape and he's really fast. Clearly, he's gained additional motivation from some of the challenges and he's turned a negative into a positive. That's how he's using it," Black is quoted as saying by The Independent.

"He's as confident as I've ever seen him before. He's doing things in training that would suggest we should be really confident and he has an amazing ability to focus on the task in hand. He's very determined to come here and win. He's not interested in anything else."

Farah has won three golds and one silver at the World Championships.
