Stephanie Twell squeezes into 5,000m final in Beijing

Great Britain's 5,000m runner Stephanie Twell squeezes into the final of her event at the World Athletics Championships as a fastest loser.

GB runner Stephanie Twell has qualified for the 5,000m event at the World Athletics Championships in Beijing as one of the fastest losers.

The 26-year-old finished seventh in heat one with a time of 15.34.72 as she missed out on the top five by just over nine seconds to plunge a final berth into doubt.

However, Twell has advanced into the showpiece as a fastest loser to become Britain's one and only representative in the contest.

British teammates Mo Farah - who has already retained his 10,000m title this week - and Tom Farrell will compete against one another in the men's equivalent on Saturday.
