Shara Proctor: 'I will claim a medal'

Great Britain's Shara Proctor is certain that she will return home from the World Athletics Championships with a medal.

Long jumper Shara Proctor has insisted that she has no doubt about her ability to win a medal at the World Athletics Championships.

The 26-year-old heads into the meeting ranked third in the world following a jump of 6.98m at the Anniversary Games last month, and the British record holder is certain that her form is good enough to secure a spot on the podium.

"I always come to a major championships with a goal in mind and this time is no different to other times," Proctor told the British Athletics website. "I am going to get a medal this time, I'm more focused than ever.

"I've got a different mindset than last year and more confident than ever."

Proctor finished sixth in Moscow two years ago.
