Katarina Johnson-Thompson has said that the disappointment of leaving the World Athletics Championships empty-handed has made her more hungry to make amends in the Rio Olympics next summer.
The Briton endured what she labelled the 'worst week of her life' after failing to secure a podium finish from either of her two events in Beijing over the past six days.
She suffered three fouls in the long jump segment of the heptathlon to effectively rule her out of contention for a medal, before finishing 11th in the 12-woman field in Friday's long jump final to compound her woes.
"I think the positives are that I am never going to let this happen again," the 22-year-old is quoted as saying by ESPN.
"Me and my coach (Mike Holmes) are going to go into winter training very motivated to come out and do myself justice.
"The positive is that I am still only 22 years old so I have got many years left in the sport and this will help me grow."
There was consolation for GB overall, however, as Shara Proctor finished second behind American Tianna Bartoletta in yesterday's final to clinch silver.
