Jenny Meadows eager for Olympic Games place

Team GB's Jenny Meadows is hoping that she will be able to run at the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil.

Jenny Meadows has said that she is desperate to represent Team GB at next year's Olympic Games in Rio de Janeirio.

The 34-year-old was due to compete in London three years ago, but she was ruled out of the home Games due to an Achilles injury.

The 800m runner has targeted a positive showing at the World Athletics Championships later this month to take forward to Brazil.

"In the three years leading up to London, I was ranked in the world's top three. I just really want to give it another shot," she told BBC Sport.

"I'm trying to make that World Championship final. That will give me a big spring in my step and a lot of confidence going forward to Rio."

In 2008, Meadows reached the semi-finals of the Olympics in Beijing.
