Lucy Hatton defiant after athletes switch allegiances

British sprinter Lucy Hatton admits that five athletes switching allegiance to Team GB has only increased her determination to feature at this summer's World Championships.

British hurdler Lucy Hatton has hit out at the decision to allow five athletes to switch allegiance to Great Britain.

British Athletics has announced that the incoming quintet are eligible to qualify for the World Championships and Olympic Games, but Hatton has insisted that one of the athletes in question, Cindy Ofili, will not be taking her spot.

The 20-year-old told BBC Radio Northampton: "I'm a British girl and I'll be on both teams. If you want to be GB, we girls aren't going to roll over. Bring it on.

"She's not taking my spot. Fair enough, if she needs to come over because America's a bit too hard for her at the moment, but try to run in the wind, rain and cold because it's not as lovely as it seems."

Earlier this year, Hatton won silver in the 60m hurdles at the European Indoors.
