Robbie Grabarz: 'British high jump improving'

Team GB's Robbie Grabarz tells Sports Mole that his fellow male high jumpers are getting closer to his level.

Robbie Grabarz has told Sports Mole that the standard of the men's high jump in Great Britain has improved over the last couple of years.

The 27-year-old, who claimed bronze at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, has often been Team GB's sole representative at major championships.

However, the joint British record holder has insisted that a number of his compatriots have now started to reach the "next level".

"A lot of the guys that I train with have taken that next level. They are looking at making the big events, whereas before they were just jumping," he said.

"It's nice to know that I can have my training partners out at championships with me, supporting me and trying to beat me every day of the week."

Grabarz made the claim following his title-winning performance at the British Championships in Birmingham yesterday afternoon.
