Great Britain's David Devine insists that he has come to terms with the roar of the home support ahead of tonight's T13 1,500m final.

Great Britain's Paralympic middle distance runner David Devine has claimed that he is feeling more relaxed ahead of tonight's T13 1,500m final.

The Liverpool-born athlete just edged a spot in the final after coming fifth in his heat but the 20-year-old has insisted that his victory in the 800m heat has given him the confidence he needs.

"It was so much better than the 1,500m heat. My legs felt faster," the Liverpool Echo quotes Devine as saying. "I've got used to the nerves and everything that comes with competing at an event as big as this.

"That was easily the noisiest crowd I've ever heard. I tightened up a little bit but not as much as in the 1,500m and it makes it so much easier when you're tiring with 80,000 people shouting for you."

Devine is competing in his first Paralympic Games.
