Jessica Ennis reveals that she suffered from nerves at the beginning of the second day in the heptathlon.

Jessica Ennis has admitted that she was "a little apprehensive" at the beginning of the second day's events in the heptathlon on Saturday.

The British athlete produced a good performance in the long jump before breaking her personal best in the javelin during the morning session.

Ennis looks set to win Team GB's first gold medal in athletics at the Olympics after tonight's 800m and she has revealed her relief after a positive display in London.

The 26-year-old told BBC Sport: "It's been a brilliant day. Having such a good day yesterday meant I was a little bit apprehensive that something would go wrong the next day.

"I was pretty nervous before the long jump but I'm made up to have made those two performances today."

Ennis has scored 5971 points after six events.
