Laura Muir delighted with Diamond League win

Laura Muir says that her victory in the 1500m at the Diamond League meeting in Oslo is the "biggest win" of her career.

Great Britain's Laura Muir has spoken of her delight at winning the women's 1500m at the IAAF Diamond League meeting in Oslo on Thursday.

Muir has endured a difficult year after disappointing outings at the Commonwealth Games and the European Championships last summer, but she became the first Brit to win the 1500m by beating Faith Chepngetich Kipyegon in a time of 4:00.07.

"I heard them coming as the crowd got louder," Muir told the Diamond League's official website. "But I managed to keep on running and won my first ever Diamond League.

"I think this is the biggest win of my career. I want to run fast so I was with the pacemakers and the others did not follow. I was aware I was alone but the crowd supported me a lot."

Muir had finished second in the 800m at the Birmingham Diamond League meeting last weekend.
