Jessica Ennis-Hill's coach slams Mo Farah for missed drugs tests

Jessica Ennis-Hill's coach Toni Minichiello says that Mo Farah should not have been in a position to miss two drugs tests.

Jessica Ennis-Hill's coach Toni Minichiello has criticized the professionalism of Mo Farah, following reports that the Olympic champion missed two drug tests before his gold-medal triumphs at London 2012.

Farah is believed to have missed a test in early 2010 and then a second in February 2011, after which he claimed that he did not hear the inspectors ringing his doorbell.

A third missed test would have seen Farah face a minimum two-year ban, and Minichiello says that there can be no excuses for not sticking to the rules.

"It's part of your job as a professional athlete," The Mirror quotes Minichiello as saying. "You remember your kit. You remember your spikes for training. You make yourself available for testing for one hour each day.

"You shouldn't be missing tests, you should be organised well enough. The 'one hour availability' I think is a good system.

"You're given three chances. In effect you get two warnings. Different situations do arise. But until that hour starts you can notify the testers by email, text message or phone call, to inform them of any change to your circumstances."

Farah is expected to return to competitive action at the Diamond League meeting in Monaco next month.
