Glasgow, Birmingham to share Indoor Grand Prix

The Indoor Grand Prix will alternate between Glasgow and Birmingham between 2016 and 2020.

A deal has been reached for Glasgow's Emirates Arena and Birmingham's Barclaycard Arena to share the hosting of the Indoor Grand Prix.

It has been announced that Glasgow will stage the event in 2016, 2018 and 2020, while Birmingham will be the venue for 2017 and 2019.

British Athletics chief executive Niels de Vos is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "Following the construction of the Emirates Arena in Glasgow and the extensive redevelopment of the Barclaycard Arena in Birmingham, we are in the fortunate position of having two genuinely world-class indoor athletics venues capable of hosting events on this scale."

This year's event gets underway in Birmingham on February 21.
