Sir Clive Woodward commits to British Olympic Association

Sir Clive Woodward dismisses claims he will leave his position with the British Olympic Association and join the troubled Rugby Football Union.

Sir Clive Woodward has dismissed claims that he will leave his position with the British Olympic Association and join the troubled Rugby Football Union.

The RFU has been in turmoil in recent weeks after John Steele left his position as chief executive and chairman Martyn Thomas was forced to step down.

"There is a lot of talk about the RFU and me but that is nothing to do with me," said Woodward, who is currently chef de mission for Team GB.

"I love working at the BOA and the reason I took the job is because we have the London 2012 Games coming up, so I was never considering anything that would get in the way of that."

Woodward, who coached England to World Cup glory in 2003, joined the British Olympic Association in 2006.
