International Olympic Committee chairman Jacques Rogge believes that security at the London Olympic Games will be unobtrusive despite the failure of G4S to employ enough security staff, leading to 3,500 soldiers being drafted in.
There have been concerns that the presence of troops at the event will spoil the fun for many spectators, but Rogge has played down concerns, saying that he is confident of the Games' security plans.
"They are fixing the issue that came up and we feel secure in terms of the transfer of soldiers to cover the missing people from G4S," Rogge said.
"I am not disappointed in London. This will be my 21st Olympic Games, there are always issues that come up.
"They will not be running around with machine guns and [will not be] very visible."
The Games opening ceremony is on July 27.
