Asafa Powell: 'Jamaica can run 36s relay in London Olympics'

Asafa Powell thinks that Jamaica can run a sub-37 second time in the 4x100m relay.

Jamaican sprinter Asafa Powell has challenged his teammates to smash the world record for the 4x100m relay they set at last year's World Championships.

Powell was not in the quartet who ran 37.04s in Daegu, but believes that any Jamaican team that competes is capable and that they are aiming for a sub-37s time in London.

"We can definitely go under 37 seconds," BBC Sport quotes Powell as saying. "We know we have the team to produce a very fast time. We have 36 seconds in mind."

The 29-year-old's only Olympic gold medal came as part of the 4x100m team in Beijing.
