David Weir claims gold in men's 1,500m T54 with comfortable victory

England's David Weir coasts to victory in the men's 1,500m T54 final at Hampden Park.

David Weir claimed another gold medal for England in the men's 1,500m T54 final at the Commonwealth Games this evening.

The Paralympic gold medallist led in the early stages of the race and cruised to victory in 3:21.67.

The previous Commonwealth gold medallist, Kurt Fearnley of Australia, finished second with a time of 3:23.08, while Alex Dupont of Canada claimed the bronze medal.

England's William Smith came fifth.
