England's 200m hopeful Danny Talbot has said that Adam Gemili's silver medal in the 100m on Monday has inspired other athletes to achieve success at the Commonwealth Games.
Talbot, who breezed through the first round of the 200m this morning, told Sports Mole afterwards that Gemili's success has provoked a reaction from the athletes still waiting to compete in Glasgow.
"I've been really good friends with Adam for a few years now and I watched him on Monday night, so he's inspired us all," said Talbot.
"I was watching it back on TV back in the Athletes' Village, which was amazing as well. From our block you could hear all the other English guys cheering when he crossed the line so yeah, it was amazing!"
The semi-finals of the men's 200m will take place tomorrow night.
