Jennifer Meadows: "I did not run a good race"

Team England 800m runner Jennifer Meadows says that she was disappointed with her semi-final run at the Commonwealth Games.

Team England 800m runner Jennifer Meadows has insisted that she "did not run a good race" in her semi-final heat at the Commonwealth Games.

Meadows advanced into the final of the competition despite finishing fifth in the second semi-final.

However, she refused to hide her disappointment with her own performance.

"I did not run a good race and I am better than that. Now I have to draw a line under it and come back tomorrow and you never know if the final is going to be like that," she told reporters.

"I do believe I am in the top eight at the Commonwealths, at least, but I think I was unlucky. I am relieved to be in the final."

Meadows logged a time of 2:02.29.
