Jodie Williams, Bianca Williams reveal delight

Team England pair Jodie Williams and Bianca Williams reveal their delight after winning silver and bronze respectively in the 200m final at the Commonwealth Games.

Team England medal winners Jodie Williams and Bianca Williams revealed their delight after winning silver and bronze respectively in the 200m final at the Commonwealth Games.

Jodie finished second with a time of 22.50s, while Bianca finished third with a time of 22.58s.

Both girls registered personal bests at the competition at Hampden Park.

"Great," responded Jodie when questioned on her feelings by Sports Mole.

"Overwhelmed really," said Bianca. "It could have worked out either way. It could have been a Jamaica one, two and then an England three, four, but we both dug deep and got a medal. That is what we came here to do at the beginning."

"It is so nice to beat a personal best at a major championship. I felt like I was battling to the line. It is just incredible really," Jodie added, before revealing that she blocks out the likes of social media to deal with the pressure in a build-up to a major race.

"I just try and forget about it really. You just kind of think about yourself and come out of the outside world and it worked," she said.

Meanwhile, Bianca added: "It is a massive confidence boost. To come here and perform and get a Commonwealths medal is so surreal."

Nigeria's Blessing Okagbare claimed gold.
